Practical Carbine I – Course Description
- Become familiar with controls and operations of students’ selected long gun
- Gain an understanding of supplemental equipment
- Know and understand the 4 fundamentals of rifle marksmanship
- Understand how to zero your sights/optics, and understand how to select an appropriate zero distance
- Understand how to negotiate thru the world with a long gun
- Know and understand the student individual offset for 5/7/10m targets
- Learn how to effectively engage man sized targets @50m from various supported positions
- Apply fundamentals of supported shooting to shooting unsupported
Requisite equipment is as follows:
- Serviceable Carbine (Loaners available)
- 250 rds of quality rifle ammunition matching the caliber of your carbine (.223/5.56 if you require a loaner)
- Sling (if you have one)
- Magazines
- Magazine Pouches/Chest Rig (if you have one)
- Eye Protection (prescription lenses okay)
- Ear Protection
- Baseball cap (recommended)
- Closed toe shoes (range Portion)
- No low cuts shirts
- Note taking material
