Course Description:
- Practical Carbine 2 is a one day course meant to ensure students understand the equipment, skills, and standards associated with the effective use of a long gun under likely conditions. Beginning with an approximately 2 hour classroom slideshow and discussion, students will become familiar with the components, operation, potential accessories, and setup of a typical carbine. The classroom portion will finish by going over the fundamentals of marksmanship and discussing zeroing theory. The range portion begins with confirming or adjusting zero’s, before moving on to sling integration, and engaging targets at various distances, in both supported and unsupported positions.

- Become familiar with rapid and administrative mag changes
- understand types of malfunctions, and remedial actions for each type
- Re-evaluate your selection of supplemental equipment
- Apply the 4 fundamentals of marksmanship
- Confirm Zeros on Steel at 50 & 100m
- Practice negotiating thru the world with a long gun
- Rapidly transition between 50m targets
- Learn how to effectively engage man sized targets up to 300m from various supported positions
- Apply fundamentals of supported shooting to shooting unsupported
Requisite equipment is as follows:
- Serviceable Carbine (Loaners available)
- 250 rds of quality rifle ammunition matching the caliber of your carbine (.223/5.56 if you require a loaner)
- Sling (if you have one)
- Magazines
- Magazine Pouches/Chest Rig (if you have one)
- Eye Protection (prescription lenses okay)
- Ear Protection
- Baseball cap (recommended)
- Closed toe shoes (range Portion)
- No low cuts shirts
- Note taking material
